Cyber Law

Currently i'm working in a software house. I would like to take additional projects (web design project) as my part time job. Is it legal to use my company software and computer to develop the project? If my company know, can they sue me? Please advise.

  1. It is definitely illegal to use your company software for your personal use to generate income.

Your company's software is the company's property and is licensed for your company use only for which it was originally intended. No employee is allow to utilise the company's information, name or facilities for personal advantage. That is improper use of tool.

You are guilty of misconduct and the company reserves the right to dismiss you and you may be subject to legal action.
